Basildon Upper Academy achieves Ofsted good rating

We are pleased to announce The Basildon Upper Academy and Sixth Form has been awarded a ‘Good’ judgement by Ofsted in its latest inspection.
This report is an improvement on our previous 2019 inspection and serves as a testament to the incredible hard work and commitment of our students, staff, parents, governing body, and trustees.
This endorsement from Ofsted is not only a cause for celebration but also a springboard towards achieving an outstanding rating in the future. The inspection praised the exceptional progress made by the Basildon Upper Academy and Sixth Form and highlighted some areas in which we can further improve. We have wasted no time in developing robust action plans to address these areas effectively, ensuring that our commitment to excellence remains unwavering.
Highlights of the report
- Pupils appreciate the guidance and support that the school gives them to be the best they can be.
- Pupils are prepared well for the next stage of their education or employment.
- Pupils learn about, and understand, the importance of respecting themselves and others. The personal, social and health education (PSHE) curriculum teaches pupils how to look after their physical and mental well-being.
- Students in the sixth form enjoy studying here. In lessons, teachers use their subject knowledge to provide a curriculum that builds students’ knowledge securely.
- Staff are well supported and are proud to work here.
