KS3 Maths Lead

We wish to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Maths with the additional responsibility of leading the KS3 Maths curriculum.

Salary £32,189 — £49,274 (Academy Qualified Teachers Scale) plus £5,000 ARA (Academy Responsibility Allowance)

The Maths department is led by the EBACC lead who in turn is supported by three Key Stage Leads, of which you will be one, each with a specific remit for KS3 Maths, KS4 Maths and KS5 Maths.

This is a unique opportunity to join a successful split-site academy as part of a well-established and collaborative Science department.

Reporting to the EBACC lead, the successful candidate will be an outstanding Maths teacher able to demonstrate an impact in a position of responsibility or the potential to achieve this, and have an enthusiasm that will inspire students to outstanding outcomes.

Our academy operates across two sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst The Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5. The appointed candidate will initially be based at our Lower Academy in order to carry out their KS3 ARA duties.

We pride ourselves on being a truly inclusive academy and this is actively underpinned by our motto ‘Aspire, Believe, Achieve’.

We are looking for colleagues who share the drive and passion necessary to ensure every student achieves their potential.

The Academies provide staff with the most appropriate and effective personalised support to ensure that their professional development needs are fully met and that there is a high level of challenge in the opportunities they are offered. All staff take ownership of their own learning journey and are given opportunities to reflect on their own practice, as well as supporting others through being members of Teacher Learning Communities. There is an open-door culture that encourages teachers to 'drop in' on colleagues, therefore promoting good practice within the schools. We are committed to SSAT Embedding Formative Assessment CPD programme for the next two years, as well as encouraging staff to further their expertise and leadership through both internal and external programmes, including the full suite of NPQ courses. We have a very strong record of developing staff from ITT to Headship.  We have an excellent track record of providing promotion and responsibility opportunities to staff that aspire to leadership.

Pupils say that everyone is valued here and treated with respect. Pupils appreciate the guidance and support that the school gives them to be the best they can be.  Ofsted 2023
