Teacher of Art & Design

Salary £32,189 — £49,274 (Academy Qualified Teachers Scale)

Position Available: September 2024

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

We wish to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Art & Design to join our talented Creative Arts Faculty.

The post is open to teachers of all levels of experience, and we welcome applications from ECTs.

Our academy operates across two sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst The Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5. 

The successful Art Teacher will initially be based at the academy site that best suits their skill set; either at the Lower Academy teaching KS3 Art and Design, or at The Upper Academy teaching Art to KS4 with ability to offer Fine Art, Photography, Graphic Communication or Textiles as A Levels desirable due to the popularity of creative subjects in our thriving Sixth Form.

The Creative Arts Faculty boasts a team of highly trained creative and motivated practitioners who work collaboratively to share and develop each others specialisms through department CPD.

The lower academy benefits from a fully functioning Kiln, while the Upper Academy student's are able to access a photography studio with multiple backdrops and professional lighting, a darkroom, dedicated Photography studio with DSLR cameras and industry standard editing software, dedicated industry standard KS5 studio with individual work stations and display boards for each learner, large scale printing, 3D printer/ laser and spray booths for spray paint, textiles facilities including sewing machines and Digital Graphics tablets.
